Kew Gardens is found in West London. The history of Kew dates to the 18th Century when Princess Augusta, mother to King George III, and planted a nine-acre garden. During this period Capability Brown created many sections of this garden including the ‘Hollow Walk’ which is now known as the Rhododendron Dell. Over the centuries several of the new owners of Kew have continually added and adapted to the grounds, such as the Palm house being built in the 1800s under the ownership of Joseph Hooker. Modern day Kew is now a botanical paradise for many exotic plants and boasts over 50,000 plants in their historic seed bank collection. Kew is classed as a UNESCO Historical Site.
